Ecru Cotton Sportivo Jacket

Sportivo jacket from Fila, likely dating from the late 1980s to early 1990s, cut from a lightweight ecru white fabric.

A distinctly sporty piece with a generous hooded collar, drawstring waist and large flap hip pockets. The adjustable waist allows the otherwise relaxed silhouette to be drawn in and shaped around the body. Finished with a right-over-left closure.

The jacket has a generous, relaxed cut with strongly dropped shoulders and plenty of room through the body, balanced by the adjustable waist. The sleeves are deliberately short in proportion to the body and, even with the dropped shoulder taken into account, finish approximately 5 cm shorter than a conventional full-length sleeve. This is consistent with sportswear of the late 1980s and early 1990s, where shorter sleeves helped keep the hands and wrists free and unrestricted during movement and activity.
